FAQ

Why is the Maverick so inexpensive?

This question is easy to answer. I just do without the part in the chain that makes a product expensive. These include large staff, bloated marketing and expensive distribution. The products of Kauper XT are delivered directly to the kiter from production. This keeps the way short and no one cash in unnecessarily, just as direct sales should work when well set up.

Are cheap materials used to keep prices low?

The answer is a very clear NO! I myself would never want to go kiteboarding with cheap stuff and therefore never use inferior materials in my kites and bars. It is just the opposite. I'm more than 110% on the road here and have spent a lot of time putting together the best possible raw materials, such as the Teijin Triple-Ripstop, the German-made Carbon tubes for the bar, or the 100% Dyneema DC-PRO lines from Liros. Only the best materials can be used to design products that will last a long time. My products are not afraid of being compared with the kites and bars of the big brands. This applies to the materials as well as to the processing.

Can I also use my Maverick kite with other bars?

Of course you can also use the Maverick kite with all the bars where the frontlines are just as long as the backlines and the bar system has a single frontline safety. However for the absolute riding experience of the Maverick I recommend my pintxo-bar, because only then you can feel this way of playful riding of the kite. In addition to that the kite will be close to free of power by pushing the bar away from the body that you almost no longer need any safety release.

I need a spare part for my kite or bar. Are they also available separately?

Yes! Just let us know which spare part you would like to order and we will contact you as soon as possible. We deliver from the bridle, over a rubber in the valve, to the bladder.

What is the wind range of the Maverick?

Since the Maverick is designed for the use on the Hydrofoil with very low wind, as well as on the Waveboard with strong wind in the kite, I find it difficult to give a meaningful wind range based on the weight of the rider. I get on the Foil with the 9er already at 7kn and ride with it also completely relaxed at 30kn on the twintip, but I do not want to set that as a benchmark. On the other hand the kite shows its low-wind performance and that it has got a great high end without any problems. But also the selected length of the lines are influencing the wind range which is why I really do not want to commit myself here. As a rough advise I always recommend to choose the Maverick one size smaller than the kite that you have ridden before. I've seen kiterboarders over 100kg who were riding well with the 9m Maverick and at the same time other kiteboarders with just 65kg with a competitor's 12m kite were out on the water. Both had fun.

Which kites can I fly with the Pintxo bar?

The Pintxo-bar can basically be used with any kite that requires the same length of flying lines. You may have to modify the connection on the pigtails at backlines or frontlines, because unfortunately there is still no uniform standard, because each brand uses its own system. The Pintxo bar has spliced loops on all ends of the flying lines. The Pintxo bar has a single frontline safety which ensures a very good security for almost all kites on the market. Even with very large softkites the release with15m is big enough so that even these kites should be without power after release.
